How Howlers handles your data.
Last updated October 2026. This notice explains what personal information Howlers Events Corp. collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It is written with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) in mind.
Who we are
Howlers Festival (also known as Howlers Manila) is produced by Howlers Events Corp., based in Metro Manila, Philippines. Howlers Events Corp. decides how and why the information below is used.
What we collect
- Partner with us form: your name, company, email address, the role you choose and your message.
- Pre-register (Join the pack) form: your email address.
- Technical data: like any website, the hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry from the Partner with us form.
- To email you about Howlers 5.0 if you pre-registered, including when tickets and news are announced. You can ask to be removed at any time.
- To keep the website and its forms safe from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for anything unrelated to Howlers.
Our legal basis
We process the details you send through the forms because you give us your consent by submitting them (Section 12 of the Data Privacy Act), and, for replying to a business enquiry, because it is necessary to answer the request you made. Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and doing so does not affect what we did before.
We only collect what the forms ask for, which is what we need for the purposes above. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to include any in your message.
Who processes it for us
Partner with us enquiries are delivered by a form-handling service (FormSubmit), which passes your message to our email and may keep a copy for a limited time. That service uses a Google reCAPTCHA check to block bots. Pre-registration emails are stored in a private Google Sheet (Google) that only the Howlers team can open, and the video thumbnails come from YouTube (Google). Our email provider and website host also handle data on our behalf. These providers may process data outside the Philippines.
Transfers outside the Philippines
Some of the providers above, such as FormSubmit, Google and Meta, run servers outside the Philippines, including in the United States. By submitting a form you understand that your details may be processed there. Howlers Events Corp. remains responsible for your data and uses only providers that apply reasonable security measures.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to enquiries and sign-ups is limited to the Howlers team members who need it. If a personal data breach occurs that puts you at risk of serious harm, we will notify the National Privacy Commission and the people affected within 72 hours of knowing about it, as the law requires.
Under 18s
This website and its forms are meant for adults and for business contacts. If you are under 18, please do not send us your details. If we learn that we hold the details of someone under 18, we will delete them.
Cookies and third parties
This website does not set its own cookies and does not run advertising or analytics trackers. The video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube’s image servers, so YouTube (Google) can see your IP address when you scroll to them; the video player itself loads only after you press play: YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode for one video, and Facebook (Meta) for the other two, which may then set its own cookies. The Facebook and Instagram buttons are plain links to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for our normal business records. Pre-registrations are kept until you ask us to remove you or the list is no longer needed.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is processed, which is the purpose of this notice;
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- object to its processing, or withdraw your consent;
- ask us to suspend, block, remove or delete it;
- receive a copy of it in a common electronic format, where it is processed by electronic means (data portability);
- claim compensation if you were harmed by inaccurate, false or unlawfully obtained data.
We will answer your request within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
Our Data Protection Officer
Howlers Events Corp. has designated a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who is responsible for compliance with the Data Privacy Act. To reach the DPO, use the Partner with us form, choose “Something else” and start your message with “Privacy request”. Please tell us what you would like us to do and which email address you used, and we will reply to the email you provide.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change is significant, we will say so on the page.
